2010 Press Release
Excitement is Beginning to Build
Long Beach Island, New Jersey
May 24, 2010
Excitement is beginning to build as more and more pieces of this year's Lighthouse International Film Festival are falling in to place. Now in its 2nd year, the Festival, which will be held on Friday through Sunday, June 4-6 at a variety of venues on Long Beach Island, has received more than twice as many film submissions as last year. In addition, programmers scouted films at festivals far and wide, from Sundance to Berlin, South-by-Southwest, Toronto, Tribeca and Cannes to bring together over 50 of the best and most thought-provoking features, documentaries and shorts from around the world.
The schedule which is close to completion will feature 8 Spotlight Films; 8 Feature Narrative Films; 8 Feature Documentary Films; a Special Screening; 4 Surfing Films; a Midnight Film; 25 Short Films; and 4 KIDSfirst Films. A free special event will feature high school student films. Breakfast with the Filmakers; a special wrestling event; an important talk regarding the arrest of Iranian director Jafar Panahi; a discussion on the concerns with the state of fishing in area waters; and official Festival Parties round out the weekend offerings.
All Access Festival Passes can be purchased now and up until Memorial Day Weekend for only $99 at the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce office at 265 West 9th Street in Ship Bottom, just as you come on to LBI. As of Memorial Day Weekend, Passes go up to $125 per Pass.
