A documentary depicting the struggles of a charter boat captain whose seasonal summer business has fallen prey to a bad economy, high fuel prices, loss of customers and depleted fish populations. Forced to moonlight on a broken down commercial fishing trawler, he sets sail for a trip to net squid alongside his loyal first mate to try to salvage his career as a fisherman.

CRAB FEAST OR FAMINE

For 400 years, generations of watermen have fished and crabbed the Chesapeake Bay. Recently, scientists have concluded that the crab population has dropped by 70% in the last 10 years, prompting Virginia and Maryland to impose stricter regulations reducing the crabbing harvest by 34%. The film shows the economic hardships facing Virginia watermen and their families.
